A Shakespeare Classic Is Back on Stage, Thanks to Aquila Theatre Company

One of the most beloved and witty Shakespearean comedies is brought to vivid life in an innovative new production by the critically acclaimed Aquila Theatre Company. This Saturday, don’t miss this unique take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Walton Arts Center! The fun begins on March 16th at 8:00 p.m.

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy written by William Shakespeare in the late 1500s. It portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta (the former queen of the Amazons). These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set. At the center of the story is the Fairy King’s servant, the impish Puck, whose magic creates an endless supply of mirth, mistaken identity and ludicrous passions.

The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world. Exploring the universal theme of love (and its attendant complications), this classically trained, modernly hip troupe is here to bring the classics into present day with a signature style full of beautiful movement, music, song and some of the finest Shakespearean acting today.

It's one of the most famous Shakespearean productions in the world. Now, see Fayetteville’s finest theatre troupe bring it to life at A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Walton Arts Center! Tickets for this event are $10 and may be purchased via www.waltonartscenter.org.
